Meet Our Staff
CAPS provides training opportunities for postdoctoral psychology fellows seeking licensure and advanced students in psychology, counseling and social work. These early career professionals and trainees provide counseling to clients and practice under the supervision of a licensed clinician.
Brianna Ector, PsyDPost-Doctoral Fellow (CAPS) University Health Center
Dr. Ector has joined the CAPS staff for the 2022-2023 academic year. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Spelman College. She completed her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology at Adler University. Her therapeutic style is primarily informed by Relational Constructivist and Existential theory. She values the uniqueness of the human experience and strives to co-create with clients a safe and affirming therapeutic space through building healthy relationships based upon mutual trust and respect, that foster the autonomy and empowerment of each individual within the therapeutic space. She is passionate about providing culturally competent care to groups historically underserved by the medical community. Her clinical focus has included working with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, grief and loss, identity development, traumatic stress, experiences of racism and oppression, relationship concerns, LGBTQIAT+ communities, and communities of color.
